Namaste

Come join the Ann Arbor Kirtan Group for an informal evening of yogic and Sanskrit chanting. Kirtan is a five hundred year-old yoga tradition that has most recently been popularized by such notable people as Krishna Das, Jai Uttal, Deva Premal, and Ragani. Kirtan uses a method of call and response that allows the audience to fully participate in the chant, experiencing the great depth and beauty of mantra, voice, and musical instruments.

"If you never searched for truth come with us and you will become a seeker. If you were never a musician come with us and you will find your voice. You may possess immense wealth come with us and you will become love's beggar. You may think yourself a master come with us and love will turn you into a slave. If you've lost your spirit, come with us take off your silk coverings, put on our rough cloak and we will bring you back to life. Come in. The Beloved is here. We are all drunk. No one notices who enters or leaves. Don't sit outside the door in the dark wondering." ~ Jalal al-Din Rumi ♥
